Grand Theft Auto V (in short GTA V) was released in 2013 but PC and MAC users couldn’t play it until April 2015. Title for sureall over the world has been significantly changed. Graphics, audiowell as gameplay was improved and almost every aspect in the game is completely different from versions on 6th generation consoles.
- Install GTA 5 on Mac with bootcamp. Before attempting to install boot camp we recommend checking your macs specifications and cross referencing them with those recommend to run GTA 5. Next, you will need a program called Boot Camp. With Boot Camp, you can install a version of Windows 10 which is compatible with GTA 5.
- Steam account to buy GTA V PC (it’s about $50 I think, worth it because you can play it online if you buy it legally) Prepare Boot Camp. First search for Boot Camp Assistant on your Mac. Click Continue and you’ll see this: If this is your first time, select ALL boxes.
- Grand Theft Auto V for PC offers players the option to explore the award-winning world of Los Santos and Blaine County in resolutions of up to 4k and beyond, as well as the chance to experience the game running at 60 frames per second.
- The Rockstar Games Launcher is a new Windows desktop application that allows you to quickly and easily access your Rockstar Games PC collection in a single place, across both digital and disc-based.

Grand Theft Auto V for PC has a barrage of features that the console versions lack. One of those differences? With GTA V, you can play from a first-person perspective. When you have your characters all together, play around with camera angles, depth-of-field effects, overlapping text, scoring, and much more.
The real deal
Trust that Rockstar will always create worlds you can jump into. While other games take you on a tour of multiple cities, GTA 5 focuses in on Los Angeles. Even if the city was renamed to Los Santos, it is obvious that the many palm trees, cosmopolitan areas, and lush hillsides are based on the famous City of Angels.You'll see how gazing at the scenery will leave you impressed by the developers' attention to detail.
It is through the eyes of the three protagonists that you will get a feel for what the city is: a safe haven for nobodies... beginning with Michael De Santa. He’s made a living off robbing banks, but a failed attempt at a heist lands him in witness protection. He is placed in the lavish suburb of Rockford Hills with his cheating wife and bratty kids - what a bittersweet way to live. He still finds solace in his psychotic but reliable best friend, Trevor Philips. On the other side of the city is Franklin Clinton. Clinton is what Townley and Philips were in their prime: young, strong,and eager to make something of himself. Although you play each character separately, they will eventually end up working together on missions. You will have to manage how well they work together and how well they deal with other gangs, killers, and cops. Use each of their special abilities to gain an advantage on missions:
· Franklin Clinton’s Driving Focus lets him move across the city quickly.
· Michael De Santa’s Bullet Time helps him aim at enemies more precisely.
· Trevor Philip’s Red Mist lets him inflict more damage on others without severely damaging himself.
It’s important to know that special abilities can be used for a limited amount of time. What you can do is increase the character’s stamina. For example, you can partner Michael’s ability with practice at shooting ranges or shooting more enemies in general. It will increase his accuracy and reload time. Another way to progress in the game is to switch characters during missions. This is an extremely useful feature, letting you back each other up in critical situations.
No money, no problems
When Rockstar announced that it was developing Grand Theft Auto’s fifth installment, they said that it would focus on the pursuit of the almighty dollar. But, it doesn’t seem that way. The story revolves around the heist, not you robbing banks left and right. If you do want to rob places, you can rob a convenience store - which is a bit of an insult given that Michael and Trevor are professional robbers. If it’s any consolatio though, you can carry out new heists and other action-based missions in GTA: Online.

Is there a better alternative?
In the open-world of sandbox games, two titles stand out: Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. They have similar game mechanics; RDR2’s setting, graphics, and gameplay make it a great alternative.
The Red Dead Redemption series is a Western-themed action adventure game also created by Rockstar Games. Red Dead Redemption 2 is Rockstar’s most ambitious attempt at an open world; it has the biggest map of all the games the developer has ever created. It is so vast that it would take you fourteen minutes to gallop across the game, edge-to-edge.
The graphics are also another great feature. The hyperrealistic old town saloons and undisturbed countryside pay great homage to the American frontier. The only drawback to Red Dead Redemption 2 is that it is exclusive to consoles. Play it on your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One console, in Red Dead Online, or in your PC with the help of the RPCS3 emulator.
Our take
The Grand Theft Auto 5 has its flaws: tedious side missions, slightly disjointed story line, lackluster end-game content. But, it will feel like a minor inconvenience after you have experienced the best action sequences of any GTA game. By letting you play three contrasting characters, you get to see Los Santos in a different light every time you play.
Should you download it?
Yes. It should be a staple in any gamer’s collection.

Installation and updates improvements
With this release, we are starting to rollout our new install and update system. Here are the improvements from this first step:
- The setup package is now smaller.
- Download speed for updates from this version to the future version should be faster than previous.
Our future improvements for install and update system includes:
- Small partial patches support. This will allows us update some files of OpenIV (like RDR 2 filenames databases or localization packs) without updating whole application.
- Different update channels support. This will allows us to provide BETA versions before general release.
Those improvements planned to arrive later this year.

Red Dead Redemption 2 support
For Red Dead Redemption 2 support, our goal was to provide better user experience. We focused on two things: file names and bug fixes.
In OpenIV 4.0.1, we added many names for files, audio tracks and some of text keys. Modding community found and provided many of those names and strings. To keep track of all the names and other strings we created new GitHub repository that everyone can use and contribute. You can find it here – https://github.com/OpenIV-Team/RAGE-StringsDatabase, in this repository you can see all the names and strings that currently known by OpenIV, they are divided into text databases. Besides strings, it also contain set of small tools that allows you to work with those databases and makes it easier to add new strings yourself. Work is still in progress, currently there is not much documentation.
Other changes for RDR 2:
- We fixed an issue where it was not possible to run Red Dead Redemption 2 from OpenIV.
- We fixed an issue resulting in OpenIV crash when trying to open some of the RDR 2 audio files.
- We fixed an issue where OpenIV incorrectly exports multichannel audio from RDR 2.
- We fixed an issue where OpenIV was not able to work with some textures in RDR 2.
- We added ability to export META/PSO files to XML format from file context menu.
Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition support
Recently Rockstar Games updated GTA IV to Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition and now we provide better support for this version:
- We added ability to view Episodes (The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony) animations and cut scenes when OpenIV work with GTA IV: Complete Edition.
- We fixed an issue where it was not possible to run GTA IV: Complete Edition from OpenIV.
- We added more key names for GXT entries.
General changes, improvements, and fixes in OpenIV 4.0.1
- We fixed an issue where it was not possible to run Grand Theft Auto V (Epic Games Store Version) from OpenIV.
- We fixed an issue resulting in OpenIV crash while opening some modes and textures in GTA V.
- We fixed an issue where OpenIV did not update size of embedded archive when all files removed from it.
- You can add more names and strings into OpenIV databases by editing files in your documents folder here: DocumentsOpenIV[Game Name]Strings Starting with this update OpenIV will automatically reload content of those files without restart.
